April 17, 2024

February 2024 – IAMSAR Solutions completed another Maritime Search Planning (MSP) course session for JRCC Curacao personnel. Delivered onsite, the MSP course primarily focuses on maritime SAR activities from the initial onset of a maritime distress incident until the conclusion of a mission.

This course is a necessity for anyone involved in:

  • Calculating the drift of search objects
  • Determining the datum in maritime operations
  • Planning SAR operations with a moving search area

The course consists of detailed theoretical and practical elements of maritime search planning, utilizing both manual and software-based methods. The team used the RPS SARMAP software during simulations, thanks to an agreement with TetraTech.
