I am proud to announce that I received the official International Association Search and Rescue Coordinators (IASARC) SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) accreditation. This certificate (number 0001) is the result of rigorous, strict eligibility requirements and experience level. This is the new and universal standard for the profession of SAR Mission Coordinator, On Scene Coordinator, SAR Coordinator and a few more.
Much like a pilot requires a license to fly a plane and a lawyer must pass the bar exam to practice law, the SMC accreditation from IASARC is becoming the international conduit towards SMC certification. All States and countries worldwide will be encouraged to start adhering to IASARC as a sign of international excellence with a measurable output of its RCC personnel. Both IMO and ICAO are also on the radar for endorsement.
All IAMSAR Solutions instructors are undergoing this qualification process as an additional proof of excellence in the SAR realm.
