The IAMSAR Solutions team was instrumental in the reconstruction of a maritime SAR incident off the coast of New Zealand where the vessel “Enchanter” and his master were the subject of legal proceedings following the loss of many lives.
Our team performed advanced forensic analysis of both forward and backward maritime drift modeling, delayed Cospas-Sarsat 406 MHz beacon data transmission, and surviving witness testimony. Following our 2-year investigation, Mr. Derek Niles appeared before the Court to articulate our findings, supported exclusively by facts and scientific data, with razor-sharp clarity.
Our contribution led to the exoneration of the master of all charges levied against him and ultimately brought closure to an unfortunate tragedy. Our expertise in SAR is renowned all over the world.
