Para Marine SAR unit

Training session with participants engaged.

The IAMSAR Solutions team is in Pickering, Ontario Canada with the Para Marine SAR unit. We are pleased to have been selected by this group of elite maritime SAR volunteers to provide a 2-day introduction to the Fundamentals of Search and Rescue. Delivered on the week-end to accommodate their schedule, this course covers a lot of topics from the SAR system globally, basic SAR operations, search patterns, search techniques, flare sightings, maritime incidents and search planning, Cospas-Sarsat satellite detections, liaising with the Rescue Coordination Centre, Global Maritime Distress Safety System, the search effort and a lot more. Our extraordinaire Chief Training Instructor Mr. Robert Landriault is leading this session. A big thank you to Mr. Colin Thomson and Mr. Ivan Barsby from Para Marine SAR for their genuine interest in enhancing the SAR knowledge of their unit members. Their relentless pursuit of donations and funding from the city of Pickering made this event happen. Brazo Zulu!!
