The IAMSAR Solutions team delivered another SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) training session. this time to the personnel of JRCC Cairo and associated stakeholders. Here, both the President of IAMSAR Solutions Mr. Jean Houde and our maritime SMC instructor Mr. Laurent Desmarais provided essential SAR training to this organization. This was orchestrated through the United Nations International Organization for Migration (UN IOM) who provided excellent support throughout the event.
The team was overwhelmed by the warmth and genuinely friendly reception throughout the course. The Egyptians are akin to Canadians in their culture and sense of humour. This was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with a group of highly motivated and skilled SAR professionals who benefited from a tailored SAR training session. Laurent and Jean developed a lot of new long-term friendships which can only help enhance the SAR system in Egypt.
We hope to return in the future and help make a difference once again.
