IAMSAR SOLUTIONS ON CBC NEWS — FEATURING FOUNDER JEAN HOUDE

IAMSAR Solutions is proud to see Jean Houde, Founder and CEO of IAMSAR Solutions, featured on CBC News as a Search and Rescue expert following the crash of an air ambulance off the coast of Nantucket, Massachusetts.

The Latitude Air Ambulance aircraft, based in Ontario, was conducting a medical flight between Bermuda and Boston with six people on board when it disappeared over the Atlantic. The U.S. Coast Guard launched an extensive Search and Rescue operation before the difficult decision was ultimately made to suspend active search efforts.

A former Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Search and Rescue Mission Coordinator, Jean Houde was invited by CBC News to provide expert insight into one of the most difficult decisions faced during a Search and Rescue operation:

How do authorities determine when it is time to end a search?

Jean’s appearance on CBC News highlights the depth of operational experience and expertise at the core of IAMSAR Solutions.

Behind every major SAR operation are professionals who must assess complex and constantly evolving information, including environmental conditions, areas already searched, probabilities of detection and survival, and available resources — all while knowing that families are waiting for answers.

In Search and Rescue, time matters. Decisions matter. And lives are at stake.

This reality is also what drives IAMSAR Solutions to continue advancing Search and Rescue capabilities through operational expertise, training and innovation.

It is also behind the development of SAR Companion, IAMSAR Solutions’ new AI-powered solution designed specifically for the Search and Rescue community. SAR Companion represents our commitment to putting technology at the service of human expertise — supporting SAR professionals as they navigate complex, time-sensitive operational environments.

Operational expertise remains at the heart of the mission. Technology is there to strengthen it.

We are proud to see the expertise of our founder recognized by CBC News and used to help the public better understand the realities, responsibilities and complexities behind major Search and Rescue operations.
