The International Association of Search and Rescue Coordinators (IASARC) has officially launched the pilot for its new SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) certification, completing the world’s first ISO-compliant global SAR coordination framework. With all four core professional certification programs now moving into pilot testing ahead of a January 2027 public launch, we are establishing a unified standard for life-saving operations across land, air, and sea.
IAMSAR Solutions is pleased to be the first Plank owner of IASARC, with our CEO Jean Houde on its Board of Directors and also the first to officially test the SMC qualification process. This new international accreditation is a game changer in the world of SAR and will ensure standardization across global organizations related to aeronautical, maritime and land SAR. All our SAR training will align itself directly with the qualification standards established by a collective group of the best SAR minds on the planet. Contact us if you have any questions about IASARC.
Best regards,
Jean Houde
