The IAMSAR Solutions team just returned from Doha, Qatar, after completing a 5-day training and workshop on Cospas-Sarsat and international SAR. President and CEO Mr. Jean Houde was assisted by Chief Training Officer Mr. Robert Landriault in addressing over 120 attendees from 29 countries in multiple languages.
The training sessions included:
- Academic instructions on SAR best practices
- Real case studies from actual incidents
- Massive tabletop exercises surrounding the receipt of various Cospas-Sarsat 406 MHz distress alerts and the initial actions by a Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) in accordance with IAMSAR manual volume II and global SAR benchmarks
The event was a huge success, as attested by the overwhelming accolades from both event organizers and international participants. We wish to thank the State of Qatar and the Doha Joint Rescue Coordination Centre for placing their confidence in us.
SAR is our only business, and we know what we are talking about.
